anyone know why this is happening?

for the past few weeks whenever i turn off the 360 after the power shuts off you can still hear the fan going. ive tried just leaving it but unless i unplug the cord completley it doesnt stop. any idea whats happening?anyone know why this is happening?
i had that problem on my old system. it git really annoying so i called microsoft and told them my fan is still going in my system. they then told me my system is still warm so its coolin off, but it was on for 5 hours. i just returned it and got another 1.anyone know why this is happening?
id do that but the warranty has been expired for a long time and im broke so i cant buy a new one. i guess as long as it doesnt lead to any serious problems im fine just unplugging it. i was just curious
When I've been playing for a long time and turn it off the fans continue to spin for a few minutes to continue cooling it down. If you think how hot it was when it was playing a game, instantly turning it off doesn't make all that heat instantly disappear, so its good to spin for a bit.Another reason could be you have background downloads enabled. You can set your console to continue downloading even after you turn it off. The fans continue to spin, and the green light in the middle of the power ring will flash occasionally.
Along with the above posts, if your fans are moving after your gaming session this is a good thing. You want this. The 360 is notorious for over heating and thus a leading cause of the red ring. If it becomes a problem for you i strongly recommend purchasing a Xbox 360 elite. Built better suited to combat overheating and the RROD. (this is what I was told)
Another possibilty is that you have the auto-download feature turned on and it's downloading from your active downloads while your console is turned off. You'd be able to tell if the power button flashes on every five seconds.
hm, i am not sure if mine does or not, i have never noticed.lol
there is a sticky for posting about this stuff here. thanks!
