I was playing this game, and it wasn't scary at all. It looked rather boring too. Was it because I was only on the 2nd level, because I didn't see anything special about it. Dead Space..not scary
For me to be scared by a game, I have to set the atmosphere myself. I have to turn the lights off, I have to play at night, I have to play with my headphones on and with no-one else in the room. Resident Evil wouldn't be scary in the middle of a summer's day with 4 people in the room with you, same goes with this.
But then again, I wasn't scared by it, it's more jumpy than scary. Still, the atmosphere is fantastic, and I'm pretty sure I had a few heart attacks while playing.Dead Space..not scary

Dead Space is not a shock scare game. It's all about the atmoshpere. DS has some of the best lighting and ambiant sounds effects of any recent game I've played. As said above, turn the light off when ur alone, get comfy, crank up those speakers and just enjoy it.

Then with the only sound you can hear is from the game I bet the hairs on the back of your neck raise. It's all about atmosphere, you get that right and you have one hell of a game experience.
your too early in the game, it gets scary when the brutes come IMO.
