Help me get my money back from Microsoft

So my Xbox 360 decided to be really stupid and die on me two weeks after the warranty ended. It would only show a frozen scree, with no way to do anything whatsoever. Eventually, after trying to see if it fixed itself on other occasions, it simply went to the Red Ring of Death.So I called MIcrosoft and they said ''Sure! You can send your Xbox here! We'll fix it!'' They told me that I had to pay $99 since my 360 was off of warranty, but i was okay with that because it was cheaper than buying a new Xbox. The biggest problem is that I live overseas with the military. They told me it was no problem, what a BUNCH OF LIARS!I never received a box after 3 weeks.I called again. Never received a box after 3 weeks.I called a third time. Never received a box after 3 weeks.This was in July, and I wait 3 weeks because it takes longer for the box to go overseas to the military base than it does in the states. Amazon takes about 2 weeks to get here.I called a few more times...nothing.So then I finally called in October. They said they switched the system and they would simply have me mail it to them, I'm thinking ''Hallelujah! An answer to my problems!'' WRONG!They never even sent me the email with the place to send it to!So then I called to get my money back for the waranty, and just take a loss and buy an Arcade version since I have all the things I need except the 360. They told me that they would not give me my money back.Since I obviously can't reason with the Microsoft peopel to get them so I can even SEND my 360, what am I supposed to do?!I don't have an additional stateside address that I could just send my XBox to and us that as my Address.I even tried to sign up for an additional mailing service that gave me a stateside address that would forward packages to me, and they STILL NEVER SENT ME THE INFORMATION!I mean what can I do? Hi all,Was wondering if anyone out there knew how to modify your controller with a plug-and-play USB wire to recharge regular rechargeable batteries (i.e. not the pack). I am mechanically inclined, but was hoping to learn more about how it can tell the difference between regular battery packs and the ones that come with the plug-and-play packs. Xbox 360 Game Suggestion

Hey everyone...Well, this year for xmas, I could finally afford to buy my boyfriend an Xbox! :) I'm excited, he's wanted one for a long time...unfortunately, I have no idea what would be a good game(s) to go along with it. It's not that I don't know what kind of games he likes (Gears of War, Resident Evil, BioShock, Far Cry), it's that a lot of these games, he'll play his computer. And I would hate to get him a game that he's already played... so I'm just wondering if anyone can suggest one that is strictly for Xbox, or will be at least until after Christmas... haha.Any suggestions would be much appreciated...Thanks in advance!!!

It was just to short I think, and once you beat it there is not a whole lot to do after beating the remaining side quests that open up after the main story is completed.

I would not go as far as saying the game was awesome, but it was definitely a game worth playing. I will not trade it in for two reason, one being of which I never trade in games as I like to keep them considering I do not get near as much back as I bought them for so to me it is just basically giving gamestop money to rent a game, and that being an outrageous amount. Secondly, I have no doubt in my mind that they will be bringing some DLC to this game.

You can keep it and not play it, having paid full price, or you can sell/trade it and get back some of your money to put towards another game. By keeping it you have lost all the money you spent on it.

After your second playthrough, you have pretty much experienced all you can in Albion. :(This one will definitely be traded in by yours truly as well.

Trading in games is stupid, you get screwed:-You get a small fraction back of what you paid for it.-Gamestop sells it for only like 5 or 10 bucks less than new.-You miss out on future DLC.-Who knows when you'll want to go back and play it a year or so from now.-Having an extensive game library is a great thing
I rented fable from gamefly got it a day after it came out sent it back so I could Gears 2 from gamefly (I just bought gears from gamefly for 15$s off) i was finished with fable so i didn't care that i would probably never see it again
I hate gamestop as much as the next guy, but sometimes trading is a decent deal. I traded Fable II after I beat it and got $32.50 + and extra 20% for reserving Gears 2. Total: $39I consider that a good trade in deal.

Sold it to a friend at work for $30 yesterday. I already beat the whole game, got 50K reknown points, and bought every building in the game.Thinking about trading in Far Cry 2 as well. I havnt played the game since i bought it the first week of release. Its pretty bad

Ok, this threads point is really for me to find out about nba 2k9. I have gotten the nba live games my whole life and i was wondering if this is the year to switch. So here are some questions i would like to have answered. It would be greatly appreciacted to anyone that answers them. Thanks!1. Is the game overall a ''good''/''great'' game? 2. Is the online play good?3. Are there roster updates? B/c i want to use my pistons with Allen Iverson :D4. Are there any sort of superstar systems? You're getting 2k9??? We're still playing 2k8 here. Just get the game it's a lot better than Live, believe me because 2k8 was my 1st in the series I have always played live. 2k has a much more balanced gameplay any team can win any player can score when they're open.
nba live is still glitchy and unpolished, the players still move like there on skates. 2k9 all the way
The 2k games are waaaay better. I used to play live all the time, but its just not as realistic or as fun.

He still plays on his original team in the game. I also tried manually trading the players here on campus on my friends xbox that isn't connected to the internet and the trade was impossible due to salary cap restrictions.
NBA 2k9 is the best basketball game ive ever played, its got very deep controls, awesome realistic gameplay and is just fun!Iverson and Billups havnt played yet for there new teams in real life, so the updates for the game proabbly wont happen until they actaully start playing with there new teams (tonight i heard?)

I've heard horrible things. There are an exorbitant amount of shooters on the 360, it will not be hard to find on better than that game.

Worry about Gears of War 2?

I want to get the game but i seen alot of threads on the game having issues with the 360, one guy even had a red light come up. Am I just being paranoid about a couple of ppl here and there having issues or can it get to the point where the game is getting recalled?Worry about Gears of War 2?

Common sense says that's just a coincidence. Gears of War 2 didn't make the Xbox 360 go kaput, Microsoft did. Game on, and don't be paranoid.
Just get the damn thing. You'll love it.
Some people attribute the increase in RRoD at the time of a big title's launch to the increase in play time that most consoles see. A lot of people don't use their 360's at a very intense level, and then all of a sudden they play a AAA title like it's the coolest thing since sliced bread. There's nothing you can really do to avoid a RRoD experience, so just get it and enjoy.

my gf preordered gears 2 for me at gamestop and she picked it up this morning. when prordering at gamestop u were supposed to get a limited edition gears 2 skin and the code for the golden gun. she didnt get the skin.did anyon else not get it when they picked up their game?the only thing i could think of is they ran out but they should of had enough for al the preordersGears 2 Skins

what game enrages you the most?

i get mad alot at games, ive learned to refrain from throwing my controller but sometimes when i get supermad i just start punching my controller and/or start yelling obscenitys (3am its dead quiets then all you hear is ''STUPID PIECE OF ****'').but i gotta say, SOUL CALIBUR 4 to me, is the most infuriating game ive ever played. i rented the game and had it for a week and i broke the battery (rechargeable kind) to my controller, and two tv remotes, i stoped playing it cause it was angering me too much.what game enrages you?NOTE: i didnt make this post to hear how other people DONT get mad at playing videogames or how you think its ''pathetic''. if thats how you feel than dont post, and thats all there is to it. what game enrages you the most?
COD4 used to anger me sometimes. Never broke anything just random cussing. I guess i just hate the game now lol. It's just so annoying. Get put in when the game's pretty much over,three bullets to kill someone,UAV takes out all of the fun in my opinion,and too many immature kids in hardcore modes.what game enrages you the most?
I actually used to get really mad at halo 3. I was really into the multiplayer and sometimes i would just be off and it would make me really really mad because i knew i could do better. I never did anything like break my controller lol but now I don't get so mad. I don't play it as much anymore nor do I care as much.
most games don't anger me at 1st when i'm just coasting through campaign on normal or something but once i get on the rly hard difficulties i go crzy. I was getting pissed at madden 09 2day b/c i could not get 6ints in a game lol. I got it though and got my 17000+ gamer score so i'm happy now =]

Oh man, let me tell you guys, I used to break controllers left and right. That was on the PS2, of course. I haven't broken a 360 controller yet. Too expensive. But I've come close. Well, a game that's not even on the 360 and is real old, Shadow of Rome or something like that. It caused me to break a nice afterglow PS2 controller. Lol. Any fighting game tends to frustrate me, especially when the NPC is owning me. And racing games. I get mad at COD4 sometimes too, but I usually just yell at the TV.

What difficulty were you playing at? Master and Mentor would be incredibly frustrating. I practice on normal, then I can blast through easy. Makes it way less frustrating. Every battle is just good practice.

I don't react violently (destroying remotes or cursing at the TV), but I do get frustrated with some games. Recently it's been with Fable 2. I can't get myself to like it. :(
Halo 3 drives me insane beacause of all the unregistered shots and sticky's
Definetly Ninja Gaiden 2. I only went through it once on the normal difficulty but it pissed me off to no end. I tried to go through a second time but I just couldn't do it. If I had continued, I probably would have ended up breaking something.
I swear a lot at Halo and CoD4. My k/d ratio in CoD4 is like 0.7 so that's probably why.

GeoW2 is what I'd go with, but thats simply because Im not very fond of WRPGS. That and I love multiplayer.
That's a tough question. Personally I'm looking forward to both of them. They both look just as good in their own aspects.
I would also have to say GoW2 if you like shooters but Fallout 3 is a good game if you are a fan of the Fallout series or just want a different RPG experience.
I would play the Campaign mode of Gears 2 first, and then start Fallout 3. FO3 is a much deeper game. When you need a break from Fallout, fire up some Gears 2 multiplayer. :)

GOW2 for a linear yet badass shooter (story is lonly 7-8 hours long)Fallout 3 if you want to experience all of Washington D.C. after nuclear warfare, with you doing whatever you please. (story is over 100 hours)Already beat the first chapter of Gears, and the campaign so far is so epic and amazing. But overall, id get Fallout before Gears, because theres a lot more replay value and a lot more to do and explore

There's like eight Gamestops out here and they're all the same. They never even serve anything good or at least the time i went they didn't. Waited for Brawl for two hours and they finally got there. They brought old donuts and acted like *******s. Never gonna go to one of those for a very long time.
None of our gamestops around here offer food or drinks, but you can bring your own... we always get pizzas and drinks for the employees though since we're there WAY too long.I said in another thread that there was a kid camped out since 4pm but really.. theres NO reason for that. If you preordered the game you'll be getting it that night, theres no need to camp for it, its not black friday.I got the Limited Edition which is awesome. the line was in and out within 20 minutes of midnight.

[/QUOTE]Don't forget to hold your breath, and turn around three times whilst tapping the top of your head with a pink umbrella when you're doing that.:roll:Seriously, if the RRoD you are experiencing is caused by hardware failure (and it is in the vast majority of cases) the only way to get it fixed is to send it to MS.

You can do it only when the NXE update comes out. And it only lets you delete games you have 0 Gamerscore in.I don't know how you're suppose to do it, but I doublt it'll be difficult to find the option in the menus.

I'm trying to get xbox live once again, i had an ethernet connection from my router to my xbox. then i had to move my xbox upstairs. so i bought a wireless adapter. that worked brilliantly, until it randomly broke one day. 100 bucks wasted. now i bought a new PC, connected to the internet using a wireless adapter. i was wondering if i could connect my xbox, to the pc via ethernet catble and still get xbox liveXbox Live through your PC

Just plug in your ethernet cable into the ethernet port on your PC, and in the connection properties of your wireless adapter, make sure Internet Connection Sharing is enabled.
Your pc is on wireless? Just wire the 360 to the pc with an ethernet cable. Get on to your network connections, and double click your wireless connection. Go to the advanced tab. Tick both the boxes. Reset your router to make it work properly, and you're away.

yes, i personally enjoy it. it take a little longer than the first one to get into matches but other than that i love it. Some people dont like the fact that you cant choose the exact gametype you wanna play whether its warzone or execution because you have to vote on what you wanna play but there all basically the same thing. your killing the other team. gears 2 online

1) In Halo 3, when I'm doing live, I can hear everyone talking. But when I talk or do something no one ever reacts, or says anything. Are they ignoring me? Lol, or is my mic broken?2) I'm collecting skulls, and some skulls never say ''Achievment Unlocked'' when I pick them up. I'm doing all the levels in order, And so far, the first skull in the first level never said ''Achievment Unlocked'' I just picked it up and nothing. And on the 2nd level, the 2nd skull on the 2nd level. It did the same. But so far everything else said ''Achievment Unlocked'' Help? :(3) My 360 won't let me download M game demos. So I went to family settings and made it so I can play M and under, and when I try to download a game it still says ''You cannot download M games on this account'' Help? :(2 Halo 3 questions and 1 Xbox question

One type being the gold skulls that lead to an acheivement and silver skulls that do not. In order to get all 13 skulls, you must pick them up and hold them for a second or two. When in a game with over 8 players, you need to press the d-pad to activate your voice. Turn your mic on, the press up on the d-pad and you will hear a little noise, this means you are now able to talk. You have to press it every time you want to talk tho, quite annoying

If your microsoft account you have has your age as being under 17 you can not download M rated content.
1. Theres not telling. You mic could be broken, you could have muted yourself(there is a stick at the bottom of the headset plug for it), or you may not have you headset securely plugged2. Some skulls have achievements, some don't 3. Your guess is as good as mine. How old are you? If you're under 17, you may not be able to download M rated content.

Controller Tangles?

Got a quick question that I can't find the answer to. Haven't used my 360 in about 3 months and I had left It with the controller wire's wrapped around the controller like back in the day. Now as I finaly go to use it again I find that my controller wires wrap automaticly and coil themselves when I have them unwinded and trying to play. Anyone know how to get these out? I've try'd bending the curves backwards.(Which I fear is damaging the inner wirings from bending and re bending). So short of buying another controller is there another way to get these coils out? I've had the problem before but due to the long period of disuse its an insane amount of coil'ing. To the point where I have to panfully unwrap the coils only to have them re-coil again OR deal with the coils and sit on the floor 4 feet from the TV.Controller Tangles?
in time it will get straight, the only advice i can give you is dont wrap the cord around the controller againController Tangles?
Just leave it out from now on and over time it'll go back to a somewhat normal state.

Guitar Hero World Tour Drums detected as ...

I just got GHWT today and set the drums up. They sync up and can control the game but they detect as a normal xbox controller. If I try to play the drums it says ''must use a drum kit''. If I try to go into a band and join first with a standard xbox controller, and then hit the green drum to join it says ''The max number of xbox controllers have been assigned''.Is there anything I can do to make the drums know they are drums? You have a faulty drum kit. Call activision for a free one. I would return it, and buy RB2 which is much better

If you buy the 60gb kit for $99 U.S. it comes with the data migration kit. I believe the 120gb kit also comes with the data migration kit.

lol I don't know what to tell you buddy but I play fifa at least 3-4 times a week and diver headers nor bicycle kicks happen for me. Don't really know if they are random or if you have to press something on the controller to do bicycles.. As for the lounge mode achievements.. I can't help you there b/c I don't play Lounge alone..

xbox to monitor connectivity help?

i have a dell ultrasharp 2408wfp monitor and i am hoping to get a xbox 360 for christmas. since i dont have a very good tv, i was looking into the hd vga av cable which sounds pretty good, but i just found out that my monitor has a hdmi slot and componant and composite slots. isnt the hdmi slot the same slot as regular hdtv's? i was wondering if someone could clarify if i can use a full 1080p hd cable for my monitor instead of the vga hd av cable? thanks,xbox to monitor connectivity help?
You can use either one, yes. You will need to hook the RCA cables into your speakers with an adapter though, unless the Dell monitor comes with built-in speakers and such.

The online is almost identical to COD4 in terms of the way it plays. The story is mostly missions from Casino Royale with the last three being from the new movie and it only lasts about six or seven hours.

There will definitely be more players for COD5, but if this is something that interests you now would probably be the best time since it's uncertain how long the community will stay.
If you're trying to choose between Cod5 and this, definately go for Cod5. That game is going to be just as good as Cod4 was and a little better.

2 very different games man.. but judging from your username your a halo fan, which means your a first person shooter kinda guy. I'd go with CoD if I were you, but just in case, try out the mirrors edge demo and see what you think.
o.k me being a fan of the COD series since #1. i will say Mirrors edge, i've played the Cod WAW demo/beta, and it's pretty garbage. yeah the single play/co-op might/will be good but the online is crap, thats my opinion.

unreadable disk!

I want to play CoD4 really bad. I got those two circle scratches on my disk. It worked for a while but then it just stopped. Whats the best way to clean a disk. I already tried peanut butter, brasso, and toothpast. Please help thanks. unreadable disk!
The brasso should work fine. you should just keep at it cleaning with perpindicular strokes from the inside of the disk out. From my experience you have to clean for 10 to 15 minutes untill most of the scratch is not visible.unreadable disk!

Just press some peanut butter into the disc slot. If that doesn't work, try toothpaste instead.
i have this cd cleaner that spins around the disc and ur supposed to put some white stuff on it called cd repair and that ALWAYS works when i have a scratched disc

It's news to me, thanks.What I think this one needs is a Party Mode. This can be an online thing with up to let's say 16 people. You should be able to change the settings such as what zombies are around, difficulty, etc. and you should get the entire mall to run around and have fun with.Also, co-op style missions would be fun, like chosing a part of the mall to be dropped off at and you have to make your way to a different part or something.Of course Idk if it'll even be in a mall but whatever it's all good.

it is incredibly differant. Almost completly. I remember gears 1, i pwned alot of the time. But gears 2 threw 600 new mechanics at me at once. Ofcourse when i relized that meatshields are the greatest thing cliffy gave to gamers. So eventually you get used to it.

I think it's cool that they are consistently updating the game, and for free! They had some more serious grounded updates, like more races, the bikes, and the new island they are working on. I think flying cars are a decent joke-just for fun update. GoW 2 golden lancer error..

So on the launch of the day, i entered my code for the golden lancer. at first, it was going good. I filled in de code correctly, it was showing '' gold plated lancer '' and i pressed confirm download. However.. after i did that, it keep standing on 0%.. and after about 20 sec. it stopped and gave me an error said something wasn't right and i could try again later. also with a error code ( i dont have it, didn't write it down). so i just entered the code a few times later on, and now it keeps saying its a invalid code :S! i'm checking it a 100 times and its 100% correct! still, it keeps sayings its an invalid code. also, in game its i cannot choose a golden lancer, and on my memory it is also not showing I downloaded the golden lancer... what must i do?GoW 2 golden lancer error..

THinking of getting one (xbox 360)

hey guys, i got like $350 and i was thinking spending them on a xbox 360, i already have a ps3, at first i though getting more games for it but yesterday i got to play gears of war 2 (which is awesome) so any suggestions what type of bundle i can get, are they still making them with 60 GB HD? and any other new malfunctions? i just wanna get some info about the console.. thanksTHinking of getting one (xbox 360)
As someone who's in a similar position and doing research:1) Arcade: Comes with a memory stick instead of a hard drive and no HD cables. You can still purchase HD cables/VGA/etc separately. I believe you need a HD for Live. Wired Controller. White.2) Premium/Pro: Comes with a 60GB hard drive and Composite/Component cables. Also ethernet and headphone. Wireless controller. No HDMI cable, though one can be purchased separately. White/Silver.3) Elite: Comes with a 120GB hard drive and all cables, including HDMI. Also ethernet and headphones. Wireless controller. Black.From what I understand, really the only thing that the Elite has going for it is the HDMI cable and the 120GB HD. Plus the color, of course. I'm personally going with the Pro. Yes, you need the too-expensive Microsoft Hard Drives -- I can pick up a ~200GB laptop HD for the cost of the Microsoft ones, unfortunately. There are supposedly ways to hack/mod the hard drive case with a new drive, but I'm not very handy and would be afraid of breaking it.
hehe indeed, i got a 160 GB for my ps3 and it was i think $50, it was used, but hey, it works good, i dont plane to buy alot of games for the 360, i just want gears and maybe halo 3, so i dont need that much space, and one of my friends is the one buying the games so ill get the console and hes getting the games, hes the one getting hyper about it, so hes going to use it more than me, but damn, when i saw gears i got crazy, maybe ill change my mind... so i hope the 60 GB makes me happy and hope no ring of dead appears!!!

If you have a High-Def television I would recommend getting the Elite. It comes with the HDMI cable and audio adapter (which runs $50 stand-alone) and a 120Gb Hard Drive, which I think retails for something like $150 to $170 sold separately, so I think the extra $100 for the Elite over the Premium is worth it. Basically, for $50 extra you get twice the hard drive space.
i do have a HD tv, but if i have to go to a friends house and he doesn't, i have to buy the other cables? the're not included right?
the premium console comes with high definition cables (blue, green and red) and standard inputs thingy mabob(red, white and yellow) so u can plug it in both tvs. when u see the cable u will know why you can plug it into any tv.
Pick up a Pro system(60GB HDD), thats what I got recently. I might down the road get a 120GB, but I also got a PS3 so I can download content on that as well.

Well, there has been some amazing releases this past month, and Im glad as of today I finally picked up my last preordered game. Things seem to be slowing down a bit finally, which is good on my wallet, lol. I guess thats the bad side of making a decent amout of money, is its just too easy to spend it on games. My mother is undergoing major surgery and will be out of work for a month or more, I have to start funneling all disposable income over to her to help them out until she gets back on her feet.
I think I'm going to break down and get Gears 2 tonight haha. All that I would have left after that is Dead Space and Resistance 2 on PS3 for all the fall games I wanted. I was gonna save all of them till x-mas but 2 months is too long a wait for gears 2.

Yes enemies return after a while. One of my locations is right by a raiders camp and i have to clear it every once in a while. Though not the turret maybe those stay destroyed i'm not entirely sure about the turret one though.Fallout 3 Enemies can you meet them more ...
k but doesnt that make the game harder since you need to waste a lot of bullets every time you fight enemies so you will run out of bullets some time
i try to lure them as close as i can then use melee...like from the start that super duper mart thing :D
i see it differently. the more enemies you fight the more loot which means more caps therefor more bullets. to take out one raider only takes 2-3 hunting rifle bullets on the head. and the loot you get off them most like worth 20-30 caps if you sell it off. this actually makes the game alot more easier. specially when you have your barter skill at a high point

somehow i see not enough enemies on fallout 3. sometimes they just come at random times and not really a respawn time.
for example one time i was on one side of the river and i was getting shot by raiders with a sniper on the other side so i had to swim cross the river and kill it. then all the sudden i was getting shot by a super mutant with a mini gun from the other side of the river where i was from in the first place. So its mostly random encounters

2uneek4u- Ha that samething actually happened to me literally everything you said. It was weird that was the first time i saw super mutants and i ran lol there were three and i was like level 4.
Well at first it might make it hard, but now in my game, I have more ammo than I'll ever need.
I play a stealth based character (high sneak/lockpick skill) so I've never had a problem with ammo conservation really, due to sneak critical hit bonuses.Just take your time as opposed to charging in guns blazing. Try adding the scrounger perk too...
I find sitting in the rivet city marketplace buying ammo from Flak and Shrapnelthen using the ''back'' button to wait 24 hoursand then he has new stock againdid this a few times and I have 4000 Chinese assault rifle rounds200 odd misslesand loads of ammo for my favourite gun, Lincon's Repeater. but to the original question in this threadi'm pretty sure that enemys in the wastelands respawn, but enemys inside buildings dont.

Some raider came over the intercom system and said something after I had cleared out the original ones. I just bolted out of there since the robot I turned on started attacking me. I went back later and cleared the place out.Ever since it has been empty. I find if you clear out a whole camp maybe one or two will respawn over time, not the entire camp.Talon Company is harassing me now though... I really hate them, I'm afraid to fast travel.

You can always loot their bodies and sell the junk for more ammo. You aren't limited to just what people drop or you find.
